v2024_2: Combat Patch
The image above highlights all the rules changes from v2024. The biggest change is that PC HP is now a lot lower (by 4!) and the lives system has been replaced with a secondary pool of HP called Health.
Post-release playtesting showed that PC HP was far too high in v2024. The stakes in combat were much lower than I intended them to be. I don't intend to update this game constantly going forward, I want to start building adventures and additional content for it! But I want to do that on a firm foundation and if that means I have to make one last update to the game then so be it.
I also clarified the language for task resolution, added a weird arrow-tracking rule that people probably aren't going to like (oh well), and updated the example ruin map on the back so that diagonal passages are on the diagonals of the rooms.
