Hello! Thank you for checking out my weird little fantasy RPG. I've been wrestling with this project in one form or another for years, so I appreciate you taking a look at it. It borrows elements of Maze Rats but it’s largely its own thing.
Into the Odd is probably my favorite pre-existing RPG system, but I had a few problems with it...
- I prefer a slightly more heroic or sword-and-sorcery tone to Into the Odd's implied tone, which is "you start off as a bunch of nobodies."
- I don't like ability scores. I don't like describing qualities via quantities, I'd rather just describe qualities. I'm not much for math.
- I know everyone is bored with incentive systems these days, but XP and leveling (not to mention gold for XP) feel so core to what a fantasy RPG is, to me, and I want to explore that in the games I run.
Hopefully that gives you an idea of what I'm trying to achieve here.

I have somehow neglected to mention that this game owes its basic layout to Jason Tocci’s 24XX SRD: https://jasontocci.itch.io/24xx
I really love the sidebars with the names and the monsters! Well done!
Barely squeezed this entry in before the deadline! I may add a post-jam version, including a back page with tips for designing and running dungeons, in the coming weeks.
1.2 is out with tips for running dungeons on the back page!
